How to Turn Past Meetings Into Podcast Gold
If you’re stuck wondering what your next podcast episode should be about, you’re not alone. It happens to every podcaster at some point. But here’s the good news: you don’t have to sit there staring at a blank page.
You’ve already got the content. You just need to mine it.
In this episode, I share how you can turn your past coaching calls, webinars, presentations, and meetings into a goldmine of podcast content.
Your Best Podcast Topics Are Already in Your Zoom Folder
Think about it. You’re already solving problems and answering questions for your clients, prospects, and followers every single day.
Your coaching sessions, webinars, and even team trainings are packed with real-world, highly relevant topics that your listeners will love.
You just need to dig them up, dust them off, and plug them into your podcast.
And the best part? They’re already in your voice, with your brilliance baked right in.
The 5-Step Process to Mining Content Like a Pro
Here’s how you can turn your existing material into next-level podcast episodes:
Step 1: Transcribe Your Recordings
Find your recordings—client Zoom calls, webinars, presentations, even internal trainings.
Run them through a transcription tool like Otter.ai, Descript, or Fathom.
No need to edit them perfectly—we just need the essence.
Step 2: Feed the Transcript into AI
Paste your raw transcript into ChatGPT, Claude, Copilot, Gemini, or your AI tool of choice.
Use a strong prompt to get the best results. Here’s a simple one:
“Based on this transcript, identify potential podcast episode topics that would resonate with [insert your ideal listener description]. Create a simple outline for each topic based on the key points shared. Use a structure similar to my podcast format: [insert your basic structure]. Remember to use my style, voice, and tone and to keep my [insert your ideal listener description] in mind.”
Step 3: Pick Your Best Ideas
AI will give you a list of potential topics.
Now, you choose.
Which topics make sense for your ideal listener?
Which ones align with your offers, your expertise, and your authority positioning?
Step 4: Fill Your Content Calendar
Plug those winning topics into your show calendar.
Congratulations—you’ve just created weeks (maybe months) of content based on what your audience actually cares about.
Step 5 (Optional): Turn Outlines into Scripts
If you’ve trained your AI on your voice and style, you can take it one step further.
Use a prompt like this:
“Based on the outline provided, create a first draft of a solo podcast episode script. Keep the tone [insert tone description] and be sure to create a script that will appeal to [insert ideal listener description]. Follow this structure: [insert your script structure]. The script should sound like [your name]’s voice [insert voice and speaking style notes], and be about [insert desired length in minutes] long.”
Always, always edit the script to sound like you. No robots running your show.
Bonus Tip: Keep Mining!
This isn’t a one-and-done strategy.
Every new coaching call, webinar, presentation, or even a killer client question is another opportunity to mine content.
Create a habit of dropping those into your “content goldmine” folder.
Over time, you’ll build a never-ending supply of real-world, relevant topics—straight from your own brilliance.
Why This System Works
Because it’s your expertise.
It’s already proven.
It’s already helping real people.
All you’re doing now is making it easier for your listeners (and future clients) to experience that value too.
And trust me, when listeners hear you answering the exact questions they have? They’re way more likely to become leads and clients.
