Why Your Call to Action is a Service to Your Listener
Awkward good-byes are the worst.
Am I going in for a hug? How about a kiss? Or my fist-bump hits your high-five and suddenly you’re gear-shifting me like you’re driving a big rig.
Don’t let your goodbyes be awkward especially when it comes to your podcast. Finish the listener experience by holding their hand right to the end. Okay…maybe that’s too much touching already.
Before you say goodbye, tell your listener what you want them to do next.
You just finished giving them a whack of information, perhaps some new tools or resources to use, maybe you inspired them like no other or fired them up to reach their goals. Don’t just say good-bye; give them the next step. Finish the conversation without leaving them hanging or worse, moving on to the next podcaster (who’s actually willing to take better care of them).
This is your Call to Action (aka CTA).
I know, I know – for many podcasters this IS what makes the goodbye awkward but it shouldn’t! You just have to change the way you think about this ‘ask’.
In this episode, I’ll tell you the importance of this critical element – especially if your podcast goal is to convert your listener into customers. If you’re using your podcast as a marketing tool for your business, you need to be doing this every episode – not just because you want sales but because it’s part of serving your listener.
I’ll also tell you what not to do when it comes to your Call to Action and how to get out of your podcast like a champ, every time. Plus, we’ll get over the notion that you’re asking for something from your listener. Oh, yeah – prepare for a paradigm shift.
The Call to Action, don’t leave home without it…er… don’t end your podcast without it.
