The Best and Easiest Way to Improve Your Podcast
So often we get caught up in the process of creating our podcast – finding a guest, writing show descriptions and marketing it. Then, we track our downloads, analyze the numbers and make sure our artwork is picture perfect every week. But what about your podcast itself?
When was the last time you actually listened to one of your own podcasts from start to finish. Could you stand to? Most podcasters never listen to their own podcast. This is crazy! DO IT! This is one of the best ways to improve your podcast (aside from hiring me, of course). This episode, I’m handing my coaching whistle over to you!
A chef tastes their own food, a musician listens to their own music, so why wouldn’t you listen to your own podcast? I’m giving away some of my coaching secrets so you can learn how to coach yourself. I might be an idiot, but here goes. In this episode, I’ll reveal exactly what to listen for when listening to your own podcast.
When listening to your own podcast, it’s not just about you. Okay. It’s pretty much all about you. As I’ve said before, I hear podcasts differently thanks to my broadcast background but there is no doubt that, with my tips, you’ll be able to pick out a handful of ways you can improve your podcast yourself. Get ready fro revelations like, ”I interrupted my guest constantly”. Or “I say ‘absolutely’ 23 times in my 20 minute podcast”. Or “SHIT…I didn’t say the name of my own website once!” Try it for yourself from the listener’s point of view.
When you’re done with this exercise, hand me back my whistle and one of your podcasts while you’re at it and let me have a go at one of your podcasts. That’s when the real fun begins…at least for me. See my Podcast Performance Coaching Packages here.
